Welcome to the Boundless Health Podcast!

I aim to be your go-to source for accurate and cutting-edge information to help you achieve your best health ever! As a practicing cardiologist with over 20 years of clinical experience, I want to explore evidence based, practical information and dive deeper into the controversies as it relates to your health and your healthcare so you can start to make sense of what it really means to live a healthy lifestyle. Join me and my range of guests from New York Times best-selling authors to engineers reshaping the field of medicine as we talk in depth about the many approaches to living your best health ever.

The Boundless Health Podcast: Dave Feldman Part 2, CholesterolCode.com

During Dave Feldman’s second appearance on the podcast we delve deeper into the results of his Ketofest experiment, how that led to a series of new experiments, and how his research is revolutionizing the way we look at cholesterol. According to Dave's ‘energy status’ theory, the body as a system anticipates its energy needs and regulates how it mobilizes long term and short term energy storage. This makes cholesterol a passenger in an energy delivery system, not an inherently harmful doer of evil. Dave also shares the secrets of his future experiments, and explains why Lipidology is an engineer's "Holy Grail." This is not your every day conversation!"

The Boundless Health Podcast: Ivor Cummins, Fatemperor.com

After a blood test left him with more questions than answers, my guest, Ivor Cummins, began applying his problemsolving, tactical engineering point of view to answer the questions his doctors could not. Why were his tests abnormal? He then turned his attention to finding the root cause of societies most prevelant diseases- diabetes, obesity, and heart disease just to name a few. He spent countless nghts scouring decades old research and came up with a unifying cause- Insulin Resistance. To help treat and prevent IR, Ivor is a strong proponent of a lowcarb, high fat lifestyle and his book, written with Dr. Jeffry Gerber, Eat Rich, Live Long, (due out 2/2018) makes the case that a low carb diet along with lifestyle changes is the key to improving health. We discuss insulin resistance and insulin tests, the importance of adipose and how to structure your life for optimal health!

The Boundless Health Podcast: Dave Feldman from CholesterolCode.com

Dave Feldman is not a doctor. Yet he may know more about cholesterol than your doctor does. He is an engineer with a fascinating and curious mind who has used his self-experimentation journey to revolutionize how we test and diagnose lipid "disorders." In this interview, Dave explains how his low-carb lifestyle and subsequent rise in LDL started him on this path, and more importantly, what that may mean for you. We all need to remember that LDL has a purpose in our bodies. It is not inherently "bad" and is not there to kill us. Through understanding the greater purpose of LDL, and defining how variable LDL testing can be, Dave has reframed how I and many others approach cholesterol tests. Listen for yourself to see how it may apply to you!

Why do we behave the way we do? The answer may surprise you. In his new book, “Behave: The Biology of Humans at Our Best and Worst,” Professor Robert Sapolsky explains that the answer is more complex than we may think. It doesn’t just have to do with our neurobiology or hormone levels at the moment we act, but rather is influenced by days, weeks, years, even generations of experience. In this interview, we talk about his book, Behave, and we also talk about his prior book, “Why Zebras Don’t get Ulcers.” This is a fascinating description of the effects stress has on our biology, and how stress management techniques may or may not be beneficial in different contexts.
